Telling the Story with Music

The Church in the Wildwood has a soundtrack! It's listed on one of the back pages of the book and the playlist is listed here on this website. It's a collection of the songs that spoke to me and seemed to capture the tone and emotions of the story during the entire process of writing and editing.

Last weekend, while away on a writer's retreat, my friend introduced me to the Hamilton, ON duo, Ash & Bloom and as I listened to their song, 'You Carry Me' I was overwhelmed with a strange sense of regret because this song needs to be on the soundtrack. This song IS the soundtrack. The purity of their voices, the simplicity of the music, the emotions in the lyrics. It's perfect.
